Known to the Pauite Indians as the “Circle of Painted Cliffs,” the monument features two scenic hiking trails offering panoramic viewpoints along the amphitheater’s rim, a picnic area among meadows filled with wildflowers and a rustic visitor center with displays on the park’s geology.
As the host of the Utah Shakespearean Festival, Cedar City has earned the nickname “Festival City, USA.” When staying at our Cedar City motel, you will be right in the thick of the Shakespearean Festival, held June through October, and the Neil Simon Festival, held July through August.
